When I do get doubles, literally 1/3 of the time it is useless since I am trying to get a piece out of jail and it is for a spot that is not open. In the 5 games I have played since my review, it still rolls a significant amount of doubles above what I get by a 4:1 margin. There is no way one can call that a legit random dice roll algorithm. The computer had three doubles in a row and 5 for total for the game while I had 1 double for the entire game. In the two most recent games I played, for instance, the computer had three doubles while I had none, and in the other. Hard should not mean more likely to get doubles, it should mean it employs better strategies. I have no doubts that this app will reach out to a new group of users that won't be as disappointed, but personally, unless they make a complete 180 and redesign the app so that it's not just a side hustle and make it a companion app to, I won't be using it.I have played the game many times and have found on the Hard level, the computer gets both an inordinate amount of fortunate rolls and doubles compared to myself. I would personally like the option to be able to hide those so we can fill up the screen with the full board.

What's worse, once you're actually in a game, it's no better of an experience than just playing on galaxy in a browser, which IMO isn't terrible, but on a phone or ipad with a smaller screen, those avatars take up a ton of real estate.

What we got was another one of those pay to play backgammon apps based around a new currency.Ĭurrently, every game you play costs you coins. I think most of us expected the app to be a way to connect to our existing Galaxy accounts, with a nicer interface than doing so in a browser, with the addition of things like the blunder DB, etc. I too am quite disappointed with the app.
